Job summary

ELFT - Director of Adult Community Services (Bedfordshire)

We are looking for an aspirational and motivating leader to provide strategic and operational leadership and management for all adult community services across Bedfordshire. You will be responsible for the implementation of the Trust's community health strategy with a particular focus on the delivery of integrated care, taking account of local requirements within Bedfordshire Integrated Care System and our local population.

The postholder will ensure that effective management, performance and business processes are in place and builds and sustains exemplary relationships with all external stakeholders.

As a proactive collaborator, you will maintain key partnerships with other agencies, commissioners and partners across the system.

This is a pivotal senior leadership position that is responsible for building a culture that facilitates high staff morale and excellent service user experience, developing and delivering high quality responsive services to our services users and their families and carers.

Main duties of the job

The Director of Adult Community Services for Bedfordshire will be responsible for leading and manage the service managers for each clinical area, ensuring the trust strategy for community services and information/digital innovation strategies are developed and implemented. This is a key role in ensuring that services comply with national and local policies and communicating complex ideas at an executive level, implementing complex plans within the directorates.

The postholder will manage the directorate to ensure that the agreed business planning objectives are achieved and monitor and audit service quality standards, applying the principles of best value, continuous improvement and clinical governance to the directorate's services.

The successful candidate will develop and implement audits of service quality, improving services as a result and ensure that serious or potential serious incidents are investigated, implementing and managing systems for clinical governance within the directorates, ensuring that care and treatment provided complies with the best available evidence and is consistent with best practice. You will manage the collection and analysis of statistical and management information within the directorates and ensure that effective information systems, evaluation and monitoring procedures are in place to secure performance against contracts.
