Job summary
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist in Psychotherapy. We are looking for someone who can be part of the development of a new service model of psychotherapy which will meet the needs of the local population, through working closely with the locality neighbourhood teams and other ELFT services offering psychological interventions. The post will suit someone who is flexible and committed to continuous improvement in co-production with service users and carers. There is new investment to extend the current 0.6 wte post to full time (1.0 wte) or 1.2 wte job share to address this service development need. We are also committed to supporting the professional development of staff and offer various CPD/SPA opportunities. This role can include some remote working, and we support flexible and part-time working arrangements.
Main duties of the job
The job plan will be developed to meet the needs of the service and is envisaged to include 7.5 PAs for direct clinical care and 2.5 PAs for supporting programmed activities. The main duties of the post consist of providing consultant input and clinical leadership to the Psychological Therapies Service (PTS), coordinating the training and supervision of junior medical and honorary staff, assessing and formulating patients, and devising management plans and providing therapy for a small subset of complex patients.
