Bedfordshire Wellbeing Service (BWS) is an expanding IAPT service that offers low and high intensity interventions in individual, couple and group formats. We consistently achieve excellent recovery and reliable improvement rates due to our focus on delivering flexible packages of care, designed to meet patient needs.
The Service is one of four IAPT services run and administered by East London NHS Foundation Trust, the others being Newham Talking Therapies, Tower Hamlets Talking Therapies and Richmond Wellbeing Service. The four services are located, organisationally, in the Specialist Services Directorate and work together on joint projects. Main duties of the job
You will join an established, experienced and well supported team working to maintain Bedfordshire Wellbeing Service excellent reputation within our local areas. We are looking to recruit good quality Band 7 Relational Therapists to join the Relational Pathway of our service and work as part of our expanding IAPT Talking Therapy service, delivering both individual and group appointments to our Bedfordshire patients.
The post holder will work with patients who have a range of complex Anxiety disorders and Depression related problems for which relational difficulties has played a significant part in maintaining symptoms. You will be enthusiastic, experienced, and hard-working and have a genuine interest in relational therapies.

The post holder will be part of an Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service and will be part of the existing Relational Therapies Team. The post holder will provide high intensity therapies to clients who have experience Anxiety Disorders and Depression as a result of relational difficulties.

The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and work in various community settings (including GP surgeries) and psychological treatment centres or Childrens Centres. At present, the majority of clinical work is delivered remotely, with a small provision of face to face contacts being offered from our clinical bases in Bedford and Leighton Buzzard.
As an IAPT service we seek to provide ease of access for service users and to this end there will be a requirement to work flexible hours between 8am and 8 pm based on service requirements. Whilst this post is based in Bedfordshire, you may at times be required to provide cover and assistance to other East London Foundation Trust IAPT teams, for example supervision by the medium of Teams, cross service trainings, etc. The post holder will be expected to work constructively and flexibly as part of the Bedfordshire Wellbeing Service team and with colleagues in other East London Foundation Trust IAPT teams.

Education/ Qualification/ Training
Essential
- CLINICAL / COUNSELLING PSYCHOLOGISTS/ Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS, Or Post-graduate doctoral/masters level training in counselling psychology), trained in or willing to train in an IAPT modality such as PE CFD, IPT or DIT.
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Clinical / Counselling Psychologist
- Counsellor/Psychotherapist; trained in or willing to train in an IAPT modality such as PE CFD, IPT or DIT. Experience in delivering recognised and approved psychological therapies in primary care settings, accredited and registered by BACP, UKCP and HCPC
- COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPIST with previous mental health experience, trained in or willing to train in an IAPT modality such as PE CFD, IPT or DIT.
