Transfer of Care: Community Physiotherapist. Band 6

Community services are expanding in line with the NHS 10 year plan, we are seeking a motivated, dynamic and passionate part time (22.5 hours) Physiotherapist to work within our Mid Beds Transfer of Care team to make a positive impact on people lives through rehabilitation. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills within community therapy

Main duties of the job

You will need to have strong assessment skills with a personalised approach for a range of needs, skills in moving & handling, risk assessing and identifying solutions to reduce risk to meet personal outcomes of the individual, their families and carers. You will work closely alongside all members of the therapy team and wider multi-disciplinary workforce. As a band 6 you will supervise unqualified members of staff alongside an expectation to support student placements.

Experience in the field of adult community services is desirable but a willingness to learn and contribute is more important.

All applicants need to hold a degree in Physiotherapy and be registered with the HCPC. You must have a driving license and have access to a vehicle in order to carry out your duties. . We are a 7 day service 8am-9pm.

  1. To undertake comprehensive assessments of clients who may have complex conditions including multi pathology. Use well developed clinical reasoning to select appropriate assessment techniques.

  1. To analyse the information gained from the assessment to formulate an accurate physiotherapy treatment plan for the client and then discuss and agree goals and outcomes for treatment with them. To set realistic timescales for achieving these.

  1. To select and be able to perform appropriate treatment techniques from a wide range of specialist skills. The selection of techniques will be based on both theoretical and practical knowledge and evaluated past experience.

  1. To demonstrate the physical ability to carry out physiotherapy assessment and interventions.

  1. To be responsible for all aspects of safety relating to equipment used. To be responsible for checking and/or teaching competency of more junior therapists and non-qualified staff in using equipment e.g. appliances, gym equipment, electrotherapy items etc.
