COVID/Post COVID-19 Syndrome

Contract fixed term until March 2023

Main duties of the job

You will provide specialist psychological assessments, formulations and interventions as part of an interdisciplinary team, to individuals, groups and via digital or e-health. The postholder would work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including both remote and face-to-face work.

The service will offer support to children and young people up to the age of 18 who have a diagnosis of Paediatric Long COVID. You will use your knowledge and experience to provide advice and consultation on psychological aspects of the management of Long COVID to other health professionals and to advance students and colleagues knowledge and practice of psychological theories and principles. You will have a British Psychological Society Accredited post-graduate doctoral degree in an applied field of psychology (clinical, health or counselling) or relevant qualifications to be registered as a Psychological Therapist (Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy or Family Therapy) and registration (HCPC, BACP, BABCP). Ideally, you will have experience of working within a physical health setting or with children who have chronic health conditions and have experience delivering individual and group interventions.

This is a very exciting opportunity to be part of a new Paediatric Long COVID team working alongside a number of other multidisciplinary colleagues. You will also be fully integrated into and supported by a friendly and dynamic Paediatric Psychology team who have expertise in working across a range of psychological approaches and chronic health conditions. You will receive clinical supervision from an experienced Principal Clinical Psychologist.

You will also have close links with local CAMHS colleagues which provides excellent opportunities for joint working and exciting continued professional development opportunities.
