Clinical Director- General Practice Support Unit
Salary: 12,000 per session
Hours: 4 sessions per week
Location: Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire
We are looking to recruit a clinical director to join our primary care team. The successful candidate will be an experienced GP, who has a passion for driving positive change within primary care.
The general practice support unit is a new service that is currently in development. The GPSU will provide administrative support to our Bedfordshire practices and will be a first of its kind service that provides an enhanced experience for patients and staff.
The clinical director will be involved in the design and evolution of the service as it develops over the next few years. This is an exciting and unique opportunity. The clinical director will be responsible for designing and implementing processes that ensure clinical safety, improved clinical outcomes and improved experiences for patients. The successful candidate will be part of a big team shaping the future of general practice.
Main duties of the job
General practice is so much more than just a GP and a patient, and it takes a whole practice team to ensure that patients get the care they need, the kind of care we would want for the people we love. Delivering this care has become more and more challenging over time. In response to the challenges, we face the ELFT primary care team want to make some changes. We want to consistently deliver the kind of care to our patients, and happy working environment, that we would want for our loved ones
The General Practice Support Unit (GPSU) encompasses all the functions of primary care that support the interaction between patients and health care professionals and ensure we can deliver care to our patients. The idea of the GPSU goes further than just enabling the delivery of clinical care, it will help us to holistically improve the lives of the people we serve. It is an administrative function that will support our ELFT GP surgeries in Bedfordshire. We currently provide care at Leighton Road Surgery and Cauldwell Medical Centre, in the future the GPSU will support other GP surgeries in Bedfordshire as the primary care directorate grows.
