Housekeeper

The closing date is 15 October 2025

Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking house keeper to join our fantastic Medical Ward E3 within the Medicine Division. The ward consists of 35 beds, both male and female.

Some of our patients have memory problems, some may have a diagnosis of dementia and some may experience delirium. It therefore takes a special kind of house keeper to show patience, dedication, understanding and compassion. Are these the qualities you have?

If so, and you like a challenge, working in a fast paced environment, then this may be the job for you.

We have high standards on E3 and we like our ward to be tidy & clutter free. We strive to create a calming atmosphere and a welcoming and caring environment for our patients. This post is not to be confused with a domestic. We have fantastic domestic already. This is specifically a house keeping job. If you are successful, the Trust provides excellent training and development opportunities in a friendly and supportive environment.

Main duties of the job

Communications

  • To communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team, under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  • To carry out some minor clerical tasks, as required.
  • To carry out some administrative related tasks for the benefit of the ward
  • To communicate effectively when giving/receiving verbal and written information.
  • Helping to actively answer the telephone during your afternoon shift

Responsibility for Patient Care

  • To maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • To carry out any tasks required to maintain the safety, cleanliness and tidiness of the ward area.
  • To carry out duties as required, to meet aspects of ward catering (i.e - to help give out the patients meals and help patients fill in their menu request for the following day)
  • To carry out routine ward maintenance activities.
