Clinical Support Worker - Ward D1

Job summary

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team on Ward D1. D1 is a 25 bedded ward which specialises in the care of patients who have gastroenterology conditions.

We have a strong ethos to staff development and learning and have a wonderful consultant body and multidisciplinary team.

The Ward is very busy so a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care is required. You must be able to provide high quality, compassionate care, ensuring an efficient service is delivered.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated people. A caring nature, good communication skills & a willingness to learn & develop are essential.

You will deliver fundamental care to patients including assisting with personal hygiene & toileting needs, feeding & mobility.

Main duties of the job

Excellent strong sense of teamwork and commitment to maintaining high standards of care to provide high quality, compassionate care for our patients and their families and ensure that efficient service delivery is maintained.

To work closely with the nursing team delivering fundamental care to patients including assisting with personal hygiene and toileting needs, feeding and mobility.

To carry out routine administrative/telephone related tasks.

To communicate effectively when giving/receiving verbal and written information.

Work closely with other healthcare professionals in order to provide patients with exceptional care.

To organise and plan own day to day workload or activities in order to meet the demands of the job role.

To actively contribute to the efficient management of ward resources, including ordering/monitoring of ward supplies.

To support new or less experienced work colleagues to adapt to the workplace.

To participate in training and development activities that are relevant to the job role.
