Job summary
Applications are invited for the above full-time post to join a dynamic Urology team based at Stepping Hill Hospital, who provide services across a managed clinical network covering Stockport, Tameside, Macclesfield, Leighton and High Peak.
The post is aimed at those with previous experience of working in Urology at a senior trainee level.
The successful candidate must have full registration with the GMC at time of appointment and possess MRCS or equivalent.
This post could be used as a robotic fellowship but also, depending on the training needs of the individual, as a fellowship in stone surgery or reconstruction.
The rota includes a 1:7 on-call system which includes prospective cover for annual and study leave.
There is an active Postgraduate Centre with a comprehensive programme of clinical meetings, seminars and excellent library facilities.

Main duties of the job
The general urological duties include in-patient work at Stepping Hill and out-patient responsibilities between Stepping Hill, Tameside, Macclesfield, Leighton and satellite clinics.
In addition, the post-holder will be expected to uphold the standards required for urology cancer accreditation, the cancer standards including inter - Trust transfers and 18 week targets.
Additional duties will be directed at further developing the Specialist Stone Management service with both surgical and non-surgical management of urinary tract stones.

The appointee will be expected to work flexibly within the needs of the service.
The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and promote safeguarding by implementing the Trusts policies and procedures, acting promptly on concerns, communicating effectively and sharing information appropriately.If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £54.50.
