Job summary
The General Surgery team are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Doctor to join a team that provides comprehensive patient-centred management of General Surgical and benign conditions.
A doctor appointed to this grade:o shall have full registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council; ando shall have completed at least four years' full-time postgraduate training (or itsequivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty; oro shall have equivalent experience and competencies.
The Trust is committed to ensuring that newly appointed staff are given appropriate support within their role. This includes opportunities for the post holder to access appropriate clinical/peer mentoring. The post is offered on a full-time basis. There will be opportunities for mentoring with their Clinical Director; this will ensure that the support available best meets the post holder's individual needs.
Main duties of the job
The post includes leading ward rounds, theatre lists and clinics for General Surgery conditions; providing ongoing care of patients. This will be a developmental role to support the Consultant workforce by working independently to ensure a robust service provision for our patients and families.
