Job summary
Clinical responsibility for assisting in the investigation, diagnosis, and treatment, under consultant supervision
Expected to attend consultant ward rounds; present cases and discuss differential diagnosis and management; carry out appropriate practical skills with patients.
Responsible for maintaining a full clinical record of patients admitted to the ward; required to produce a written summary of the admission at the time of discharge; will participate in audit data collection, and attend clinical governance/audit meetings.

- Attend various areas within the specialty
- Management of inpatients
- Outpatient/Day Attender/Advice & Guidance clinics where appropriate
- Attendance at specialty and MDT meetings
- Attendance at educational teaching
- Develop/enhance clinical audit skills and clinical governance experience
Key relationships: Clinical Directors; Clinical Matrons; Business Manager; Consultants; Other Clinical Fellows and Deanery trainees; Advanced Clinical Practitioners; Physician Associates; Ward Nursing teams; Clinical Nurse Specialists; Occupational Therapists; Physiotherapists; Discharge Coordinators; Pharmacists; Clinical Practice Facilitators; GIM on call workforce
Key working areas: Outpatients A, Wards, Theatres & Emergency areas
The post-holder is expected to contribute to the 7-day rota be and remunerated appropriately. There is an opportunity to undertake locum shifts on zero days.
