Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Audit Data Officer to join the Stockport NHS Foundation Trust FT Clinical Audit team. The team plays a vital role in enhancing patient care by supporting both clinical and non-clinical teams across the Trust; this includes the planning, delivery, analysis, presentation, and reporting of clinical audits.
We are looking for a motivated individual to support the Clinical Audit Manager in facilitating clinical audits, with a key focus on data extraction for national clinical audits. The role also involves visiting wards and engaging with ward staff to ensure the smooth completion of audit tasks.
As a successful candidate, you will bring:
- Knowledge of Clinical Audit processes and experience using hospital systems.
- Strong IT skills are essential.
- Proven experience of a methodical approach to work, with excellent attention to detail, the ability to extract and input data quickly and accurately, and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- An enthusiastic and positive approach, along with excellent communication skills.
While a clinical background is not required, an understanding of clinical terminology would be advantageous.
Main duties of the job
To assist the Trust in achieving thresholds and deadlines to deliver the Trust strategic objectives, mandated clinical audit elements of the contract, the Trust clinical audit programme and achieve the finance associated by required outcomes;
- Data extraction for National audits.Data extraction is from both paper health records and electronic systems. Data extraction will be in accordance with set criteria Speed and accuracy are both required for this role.
- Supporting members of clinical specialities, divisional group managers and various Trust staff groups on the implementation of programmes and projects.
- Facilitating local audit activity as per forward programme.
