- Manage the financial budget ensuring cost effective use of resources.

Main duties of the job
- Improving nutrition related outcomes for patients and ensuring appropriate pathways are established for both enteral and parenteral nutrition.
- To work closely with the medical nutrition leads and MDT to develop and progress the service.
- To ensure patients receive appropriate, evidence based and efficient nutrition care in line with local, regional and national guidelines.
- Insertion and management of NG, NJ and PEG tubes.

- Participation in clinics including coeliac, complex nutrition and other clinics in line with nutrition service needs (independent and consultant supported clinics).
- Close working with ED, AMU and gastroenterology day case unit to avoid unnecessary nutrition related admissions (i.e replacement/troubleshooting/unblocking of gastrostomy tubes).
- Develop skills and services required by the nutrition service within the gastroenterology directorate.
- Referring patients directly to specialists in other professions.
- Allocation of cases to other members of the specialist team.
