We are looking for a team playing individual to join our front door team as a Senior Clinical Fellow.
The Emergency Medicine team has a multidisciplinary ethos, working in 'partnership' with other key teams to assess and manage patients presenting to the service according to evidence based principles. We have strong relationships with the Specialist teams, radiology, GPs and community services to facilitate admission avoidance.
Main duties of the job
The number of patients attending the hospital is around 8,000 a month. The organization has an aspiration to deliver early clinical decision making and management of acute medical emergencies, and early discharge via support services in the community, our ambulatory care unit, or from the emergency department itself.
The main duties of this post are the assessment of patients, ordering and following up investigations, completing documentation and working flexibly within the emergency medical bed base: There will be out of hour's duties and you will be required to work flexibly seven days a week. With regards to commitments to emergency Medicine, the successful applicant will work as part of the Emergency Department team and will be supported by Senior Trainees and Consultants.
The post-holder will participate in audit including the quarterly audit meeting and attend departmental teaching. The departmental strongly supports educational needs such as clinical courses, conferences etc. The current emergency physicians take personal interest in supporting training activities and career development.
