Responsible for independently performing, analysing and reporting on a wide range of respiratory and sleep measurements.
Working within a small and friendly team to provide a range of respiratory and sleep diagnostics.
Ideal opportunity for someone wishing to move from a Band 5 position to gain experience at a Senior Band 6 level.
Main duties of the job
- Responsible for independently performing, analysing and reporting on a wide range of measurements.
- Ensuring the technical accuracy of the equipment and the quality of the test procedure is maintained to departmental and national standards.
- Participate in supporting junior members of staff in education and development.
- Assist in the coordination and operational running of the department as required.

- Perform, analyse and report unsupervised, all routine techniques within the lung function laboratory. To include spirometry, diffusion studies, static lung volumes using plethysmography, respiratory muscle assessment, simple exercise tests and FeNO.
- Assist in the following complex procedures: Cardiopulmonary exercise testing and bronchial challenge assessments.
- Perform unsupervised the set up, analysis and reporting on limited polysomnography.
- To ensure data quality by undertaking equipment calibration and quality control for all tests performed within the laboratory.
- Ensuring the technical quality of assessment complies with published national guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with all aspects of legal and ethical obligations.

- Evidence of continuing professional development.
