Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic Infection Prevention Service team at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust.

The Infection Prevention Service is seeking to appoint a full time Senior Infection Prevention and Control Nurse. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who wishes to expand their knowledge, experience and learn new skills within a dynamic team.

The successful candidate will be expected to have a sound knowledge of clinical nursing, excellent clinical skills and experience working in the field of infection prevention. You will need to be able to empower staff and facilitate effective infection prevention practice within the organisation.

Interview for the post will be held on the 30th September 2024.

Main duties of the job

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are vital, with an ability to motivate others, prioritise your workload and have a positive approach due to the challenging work, as no two days are the same.

As the service covers off site facilities, community sites as well as the Stepping Hill site an ability to travel is an essential part of the role.

You will be required to work to high standards maintaining a high quality finish to aspects of your work. The post is full time, 37.5hours, over 7 days with a need for flexibility as there may be early starts, late finishes on some days, with advanced notice.
