Stockport Foundation Trust is one of four 'specialist' hospital sites in Greater Manchester. Being a 'specialist' hospital will enhance our general surgery, anaesthetics, critical care and emergency medicine for the benefit of people in Stockport, High Peak, Cheshire and across Greater Manchester.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating closely with other healthcare professionals to develop needs-based care plans for patients with bladder and bowel dysfunction through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.

Having access to a car for work, they are able to deliver care across a range of community settings.

The Continence Staff Nurse provides excellent, skilled, effective, person-centred and evidence-based nursing care to improve and maintain continence.

They are actively involved in promoting self-care and promoting independence. They are visible and accessible to patients, families and carers, working together to ensure efficient, effective and caring services.

Supporting the Continence Service they contribute to achieving all performance indicators, essential standards and quality outcomes.

The successful applicant will contribute to the education and development of the workforce and students, including staff appraisals and supporting personal development plans.

They give advice on safely administering medication, following Trust policies and practice guidelines.

The post holder should have good organisational and assessment skills be flexible, working well within a busy service.

This post requires good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to be adaptable, reliable and approachable. In addition you will need to be able to demonstrate up to date knowledge on relevant nursing issues with knowledge of Stockport Together and the integration of services in Stockport. The post holder will need to lone work, and be a car driver and have a car available for work.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and promote safeguarding by implementing the Trusts policies and procedures, acting promptly on concerns, communicating effectively and sharing information appropriately.

If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS at a cost of £41.90. This will be deducted from your first Trust salary.

In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.
