We are looking for 2 consultants to be part of our experienced and energetic clinical professionals as we grow our Stroke service align with the vision for our organization.
The successful candidates will be part of an exciting opportunity to lead on clinical service developments and improve the quality of care for our patients
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will be supported and responsible for supervision of junior/middle grade medical staff including support to undertake formal training in educational supervision.
Working with multi-disciplinary teams within the division and other divisions on a regular basis. As well as working closing with the Greater Manchester Stroke Delivery Network.
You will be expected to participate in Stroke Thrombolysis on call Rota (1 in 9 on call from 7am -11.30 pm only). There are no general medical on call commitments.
You will also be responsible for management of Stroke patients on a post-acute rehabilitation ward.
You will take part in the delivery of a TIA service which we aim to see TIA patients within 24 hours of referral. We have an onsite vascular studies and have access to MR investigations as well as cardiac monitoring.
The successful candidate should have completed Specialist Training in General Medicine and Geriatrics and/or subspecialty training in Stroke Medicine.
The candidate should be on the Specialist Register of the GMC or have a CCT date within six months of the date of interview.
