Locum Consultant Urologist. Duties of the role would include performing core urological procedures including TURBT, Bipolar TURP and Ureteroscopy and laser to stones.
Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a clinician to join Stockport NHS FT as a full time Locum Consultant Urologist.
The general urological duties include in-patient work at Stepping Hill and out-patient responsibilities between Stepping Hill, Tameside and Macclesfield .
The post would be to cover sick leave and maternity leave for the next 12 months. It would include performing core urological procedures including TURBT, Bipolar TURP and Ureteroscopy and laser to stones.
In addition, the post-holder will be expected to uphold the standards required for urology cancer accreditation, the cancer standards including inter - Trust transfers and 18 week targets. This will include contributing to the diagnostic pathway for urology cancers.The ability to perform local anaesthetic trans-perineal biopsy would be preferable but not essential.

Candidates must hold the FRCS(Urol) or equivalent qualification, eligible to be on the Specialist register and within 6 months of achieving CCT at the time of interview.
The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and promote safeguarding by implementing the Trusts policies and procedures, acting promptly on concerns, communicating effectively and sharing information appropriately.If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £41.90.
