Job summary

Reporting to the Operational Support Manager, the post holder will be an integral member of the Operational Support Team providing comprehensive, professional and responsive administrative, project management and improvement support to teams across the Trust.

The post holder will aid the team in the delivery of specific corporate change and cost improvement programmes across the organisation.

The post holder will be expected to exercise initiative with an understanding of the objectives of the Trust. Working closely with all Divisions, the successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, IT skills and show strong leadership abilities.

The candidate will be an organised and highly motivated individual who can work autonomously and as part of a team. Responsibilities include daily line management of staff, adhering to policies and procedures.

There may be occasions when the post holder will be required to be work flexibly in order to support the team and meet the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide and co-ordinate project support and administrative services at relevant meetings as appropriate, under the direction of the Operational Support Manager.
  • Take and transcribe accurate actions of formal meetings in a timely manner, taking into account the Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information, ensuring that all follow-up action is taken and action logs completed accordingly.
  • Support teams with the management of projects that deliver Stockport Trust's Efficiency Programme, gathering information and dealing with enquiries as and when is necessary; including supporting with the completion of all relevant documentation.
  • Act as a point of contact for the team, dealing with and responding effectively to complex queries from stakeholders and passing on relevant information to appropriate team members sensitively and succinctly.
  • Lead the administrative support for Cancer Services Peer Reviews and Cancer Quality and Service Improvement Groups. High level, accurate administration support is required and an understanding of the significance of precise recording.
  • Line manage the Associate Project Support Officer (APSO) in accordance with all Trust policies and procedures. Daily line management, regular 1:1 meetings, appraisal and training will be the responsibility of the SOSO. The SOSO will co-ordinate workstreams with the APSO ensuring adequate Operational Support is provided.
