FULL TIME POST 37.5 HOURS
As a Nurse Team Leader you will be responsible for supporting the Nurse Team Manager and Matron in ensuring that our service users' needs are met through the delivery of high quality care. You will assist in the day to day management of the Critical Care Unit, acting as a leader and role model.

Main duties of the job
Maintain a high standard of clinical care whilst supervising junior staff and new starters
Act as shift leader , ensuring safe, quality delivery o care to patients.
Ensure excellent communication is adhered to in order to provide a seamless service
Ensure compliance with our clinical governance framework. You will motivate colleagues, champion service user safety and dignity, and drive continuous improvement.

- To provide skilled nursing care to the critically ill patient; to monitor and maintain standards of professional practice, to support the unit team and senior colleagues and to provide clinical and managerial expertise.
- To provide leadership and direction to the team, acting as a role model and patient advocate
- The post holder will deliver individualised patient care based on best practice through developing a theoretical knowledge base for the care with acute physiological needs. This includes in-depth knowledge of ventilation, sepsis and renal replacement therapy.
- The post holder will act as a role model to less experienced nursing staff and the development of departmental initiatives to enhance critical care
The Critical Care unit comprises of Intensive care and high dependency Units providing Level 2 and Level 3 care to residents of Stockport and High Peak. We offer emergency and elective care for these residents.
We have a dedicated Practice Based Educator and a dedicated commitment to learning and development with close established connections to the Greater Manchester Critical Skills Institute. We also actively encourage and support personal and professional development.
You will be encouraged to contribute to unit development
Stepping Hill Hospital is situated close to Manchester and the Peak District National park, making it ideal for social and leisure purposes, as well as providing excellent travel links to Manchester and the rest of the North West
If successful, this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £41.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary.
In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.
