Job summary
Stroke and Respiratory Clinical attachment - 4 weekplacement starting 21st August 2023
A Clinical Attachment (sometimes referred to as an observership) provides medically qualified overseas doctors with an overview of NHS medical processes and systems, helping them to prepare for working in the NHS. This supports them in their application for GMC registration and Part 2 of the PLAB test.
All attaches will be allocated a Clinical Supervisor and will shadow the multi-disciplinary team to observe clinical skills, develop interpersonal skills and obtain a range of additional skills. All will undertake a Trust and local induction. The Clinical Supervisor will be responsible for meeting with the attach to access their level of understanding and complete the Clinical Attachment / Observership Record. Upon completion, a Certificate of Clinical Attachment / Observership will be produced.
There is a fee for clinical attachments of £200 to cover the pre-engagement checks and admin time to process applications. Only applications that are successful would attract the fee and this is not refundable if the applicant withdraws during the pre-engagement process.
The applicant must undergo pre-engagement checks in line with NHS Check Standards. Failure to provide satisfactory checks in line with these standards may result in the offer of attachment being withdrawn.

- Phlebotomy and interpretation of blood results
