PART TIME CLINICAL PHARMACIST
The Pharmacy Shop is the trading name for a wholly owned subsidiary (the business) of Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. It operates to provide exceptional, accessible and innovative healthcare and pharmaceutical services for the Trust's patients, staff and the local community
The post holder will be employed by The Pharmacy Shop, not the NHS.
The full time salary (40 hours) for this post is competitive and negotiable (pro rata) depending on experience
We require a dependable, enthusiastic & motivated clinical pharmacist to deliver a high quality and effective patient focused service
You should possess good communication skills, be committed and a good team player
You must possess excellent skills in accuracy and good attention to detail as you will be responsible for checking hospital prescriptions
The working hours will be 1-2 days, this will include a Friday and another day the business requires from 9am until 6pm with a 1 hour lunch break (8 hours)
Although desirable, applicants do not require hospital pharmacy experience as training will be provided. You would be fully supported in your personal development with a personal development plan updated annually
This role may suit someone who is a locum and looking for 1-2 permanent days a week or alternatively may also suit someone who is looking to gain experience in the hospital environment

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for developing, managing and promoting a responsive, proactive, patient focussed clinical pharmacy outpatient service.
Be enthusiastic about developing the Pharmacy Shop, driving forward OTC sales and professional clinical services offered within the pharmacy.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Supporting the Superintendent Pharmacist on all clinical aspects of the Pharmacy Shop services.
- Overview the processes for the procurement of drugs and pharmaceutical items by the Pharmacy Shop
- Supervising the sale and supply of medicines and complimentary products
- To assist with drug incident reviews and action plans within the Pharmacy Shop.
- To act as a role model for clinical pharmacy practice and to provide training for medical, nursing and pharmacy shop staff.
- To support the Superintendent Pharmacist in developing the pharmacy services provided by the pharmacy shop to Stockport NHS Foundation Trust and the public.
- Act as a highly specialised pharmacy resource for this clinical area giving expert advice and dealing with complex medicines information queries.
- Active involvement in audit.
- If post holder is a NMP or independent prescriber, to prescribe as appropriate for patients within the job holders level of competence.
- To identify and promote best practice and actively seek improvement.
