Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust for the post of Specialist Grade Doctor in Intensive Care Medicine to join the friendly and forward thinking 10-strong ICU Consultant Team.
This role would suit an experienced senior doctor who is interested in gaining further clinical and non-clinical experience before applying for CESR and support would be provided with CESR applications and appropriate time will be included within the job plan to help achieve this aim. Applicants will be expected to have suitable experience in Intensive Care Medicine.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will start their employment on the ICU resident airway rota for the first 3 months of employment. This is a 1:8 rota covering weekends and nights. After an assessment of competencies, he/she will then be expected to move on to consultant rota, and will practice with consultant supervision. For candidates who make suitable progress, you will be supported to undertake a 3-month secondment to gain experience in supplemental specialties.
The post is initially for on a two-year fixed-term contract basis and subject to review upon conclusion. Candidates who are unable, for personal reasons, to work full-time are eligible to apply and, if successful, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis, in consultation with consultant colleagues.
