We are searching for a highly motivated, passionate Newborn and Infant Physical Examination (NIPE) Midwife who shares our commitment to women and families to provide them with consistently high-quality safe care. We are looking for a dynamic person with a high level of communication and organisational skills who will lead this service with the support of the Antenatal and Newborn Screening Lead Midwife, the Neonatal NIPE Lead, and the Postnatal Ward Manager. This is a perfect opportunity to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team with a focus on driving forward high-quality Screening for babies born within our local community.
The successful candidate will be an experienced registered midwife who has the addition of the NIPE qualification. You will be responsible for the daily operational leadership of the NIPE Service within Maternity Services, ensuring that a consistently safe, high quality service is delivered to women and babies.

Main duties of the job
The NIPE Midwife will be responsible for both leading and participating in a 7 day a week roster for the NIPE service.
Responsible for participating in the discharge pathway for women and babies.
Be expected to support both junior and unqualified staff which includes both medical and midwifery.
May be required to work throughout the maternity unit in areas other than the postnatal ward / NIPE clinic as required to support the delivery of the NIPE service and the wider maternity service.
Work autonomously within national and local guidelines and sphere of professional practice
Be responsible of the assessment of service needs and development, and implementation and evaluation of care pathways.
Adhere to the statutory requirements for midwives in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council regulations and the Midwives Rules and Codes of practice
Be responsible for both patient and staff information and record keeping in line with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Security and Confidentiality Policy
