Job summary
We are recruiting for a Housekeeper who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
This post will be a night time housekeeper working from 23:00-07:00 (37.5 hrs/week) Monday to Friday.
You will be joining our Adult Emergency Department. The Emergency Department is a fast paced clinical environment and ensuring provision of food and patients is part of improvements being implemented to ensure patient safety.
You will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in the Emergency Department. You are expected to adhere to proper food handling.
This role involves performing a variety of cleaning tasks to ensure that all areas meet health and safety standards. You will work closely with medical staff to support patient care by providing a hygienic setting that promotes recovery and well-being.
You will be responsible for the provision of a high quality service by meeting and greeting visitors to the ward. Supported by the ward manager and the ward clinical team to ensure a customer friendly approach is used in interactions with patients and stakeholders. You will also support the general running of the ward by being involved in general organisational.

Main duties of the job
A Clinical Housekeeper in the Emergency Department plays a vital role in ensuring that the environment is clean, organized, and safe for both patients and staff.
Ensuring patient bays and common areas are cleaned and disinfected regularly.
Adhering to infection control protocols, including proper cleaning of high-touch surfaces and equipment.
Ensuring that essential supplies, such as PPE, hand sanitizers, towels, and cleaning products, are stocked and available.
Reporting any maintenance issues, such as broken equipment, leaks, or other hazards, to the appropriate department.Providing basic assistance to staff in preparing treatment areas for procedures, including setting up trolleys and restocking items.
