Job summary

We are recruiting for a Radiopharmacy Technician who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

Under the direction of the Production Manager and Lead QA Radiopharmaceutical Scientist you will support the radiopharmacy service.

You will carry out the technical duties required for the provision of radiopharmaceuticals to the Trust and its customers, including the manufacture of radiopharmaceuticals, radiopharmacy environmental monitoring, radiopharmaceutical quality control and assisting with the maintenance of the pharmaceutical quality system.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will participate in the aseptic preparation and dispensing of a range of diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals, following standard operating procedures, the requirements of the Manufacturer's Specials Licence and GMP.

You will participate in audits and monitoring of Radiopharmacy services through data collection and assisting in the evaluation and interpretation of results and writing reports.

The post holder will be involved in the regular programme of quality control of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols, carrying out measurements safely and accurately and reporting any findings or defects to the Production Manager and/or Quality Assurance Manager.

You will also keep accurate records in accordance with the requirements of the Radiopharmacy Quality System, ensuring completion of all production documentation to provide a complete audit trail for all manufactured/dispensed products.

  • BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science or NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent qualification in pharmaceutical science / life science with appropriate underpinning knowledge
  • Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with General Pharmaceutical Council or equivalent professional registration e.g. RCT

Desirable

  • Training in aseptic services
  • Radiopharmacy training
  • Quality systems training

Previous Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working as a technician in aseptic services / aseptic manufacture
  • Experience of working with a quality assurance team

Desirable

  • Experience of working in an aseptic unit with a Manufacturer's Specials Licence
  • Experience of working in a radiopharmacy

  • Hard working
  • Excellent accuracy, manual dexterity skills and good eye-sight to achieve precision and speed in radiopharmaceutical dispensing procedures.
