Job summary
Applications are invited for a Senior Clinical Fellow in Trauma and Orthopaedics. This is a fixed termappointment for a period of 12 months. The post is based at Lister Hospital in Stevenage, is full timeand the post holder will be expected to participate on a 1:18 rota commitment.This is an excellent opportunity within the Trauma and Orthopedic department at East andNorth Hertfordshire NHS Trust. The Clinical Fellow will have opportunities to further theirsurgical knowledge through exposure to clinics, operating lists (elective and emergency),ward rounds, multidisciplinary team meetings and formal teaching. The post holder will beencouraged to participate in audits, presentations and teachings. Although, the posts are notrecognized for training the appointee will be encouraged in their training and developmentwithin the role.
Main duties of the job
The appointee will join the Orthopaedic team at middle grade level, working between 14 Orthopaedicconsultants. The rota is 1 in 18 shift system. Opportunities will be available for the appointee todevelop skills in a sub-specialist area if desired. Duties, working patterns and timetables will beequivalent to those expected of the training grade registrars.64
