Job summary

We are recruiting for a Clinical Support Worker - Children's Diabetes who share our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

You will work as an integral part of the team and demonstrate a willingness to develop the knowledge and skills required to assist in caring for children, young people, and their families, with diabetes under the supervision of a paediatric diabetes multidisciplinary team (comprising of consultants, nurses, dieticians and psychologists).

You will assist the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to meet the health needs of CYPs with diabetes by supporting the team in the management of the patients' diabetes. All relevant training will be provided to the successful candidate to enable them to support the MDT. The job requires working across both Lister and QEII sites.

Main duties of the job

Support the MDT in the outpatient clinic setting.

Organise and assist the MDT with the smooth running of the outpatient service

Collect annual review blood and urine samples and send them to the lab

Complete annual review foot-check and give foot care advice

Complete injection and cannula site inspections

Provide annual review paperwork and ensure completion

Co-ordinate patients data downloads and attach to clinical record
