Job summary

We are recruiting for a Clinical Support Worker - Interventional Radiology who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed person to be an integral part of our team and demonstrate a willingness to develop the knowledge and skills required to assist in caring for radiology patients under the supervision of a registered nurse.

You will provide assistance to the nursing team in providing a high standard of research-based patient care for radiology patients and work collaboratively and co-operatively to meet the needs of these patients and their families within the sphere of his/her level of competence related to in-service training, at the discretion of the Radiology Senior Sister.

Working hours are 8am - 6pm, Monday - Friday currently. You will therefore be rostered to work 4 out of 5 days. The Interventional Radiology Service will be undergoing changes in the near future which will result in a 7 day working week with an out of hours on call service.

Main duties of the job

To provide a high standard of nursing care to meet the needs of patients with supervision and support from senior colleagues.

Prepare each individuals environment, equipment and materials appropriately for the procedure prior to starting the procedure.

Be responsible for the accurate recording of clinical observations and data relating to patients care, ensuring any concerns are discussed with the senior colleagues.

To identify clinical changes in patients and seek timely advice from senior colleagues whenever necessary.

Undertake the delegated task/assessments correctly, effectively, to time and report back on those aspects of assessments.

Move patients, machinery and goods in accordance with East & North Herts NHS Trust policies and procedures, whilst identifying and minimizing the risks involved.

Involve patients and carers /relatives in shared decision making and provide reassurance and support to patients and carers /family.
