The closing date is 02 February 2025

Job summary

We are looking to appoint a Consultant Radiologist in Paul Strickland Scanner Centre, which is based at Mount Vernon Hospital and is equipped with state of the art equipment: a Dual Source/dual energy CT (Siemens), three MRI scanners (1.5T Siemens), two PET-CT scanners (4 multi-detector PET-CT and a 64 multi-detector PET-CT), and a Sectra PACS/RIS system. There is an on-site Cyclotron producing PET tracers.

Main duties of the job

This post is an important part of our ongoing development of medical services at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, offering the successful applicant the opportunity to work closely with the existing Radiologists to provide a high standard of care. We are seeking a consultant with enthusiasm, commitment, and drive to work closely with colleagues in Mount Vernon Cancer Centre and throughout the organisation.

The post holder will supervise, and report investigations performed mainly cross-sectional imaging using CTand MRI and potentially a small PET/CT element. There are specialty leads for each modality in place. The post also provides the opportunity to develop research projects in the Centre.

We provide a range of opportunities for career progression and encourage CPD, in-house training and further study. Staff benefit from having NHS contracts and single accommodation is available if required.
