Job summary

After a successful first year of Complementary Therapies within our renal department we are looking for an Energy Therapist to treat staff, patients and carers across our Lister, St Albans and Harlow dialysis units fromJanuary 2025toJanuary 2026. We are looking for someone who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and an exemplary service to our renal staff and patients.

The successful candidate will work within our renal multidisciplinary services and be supported by our renal counsellors and multi professional service lead. They will provide a high standard of holistic care, to support the wellbeing of people working in renal services or receiving renal care, in accordance with the values, policies and procedures of the East and North Herts NHS Trust.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide energy therapy to patients and staff, both of whom can have complex needs.
  • Manage own outlook diary and work 7.5hrs a week flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
  • Maintain weekly work logs and submit these each week to the multi professional service administrator.
  • Signpost patients and family members to the appropriate resources available in the Multi-Professional team where necessary.
  • Gain valid, informed consent; recognise instances where patients lack capacity to give consent and respond appropriately complying with statutory and ethical frameworks.
  • Respect patient, carer and staff rights regarding individual choice, beliefs, confidentiality, privacy and dignity at all times.
