Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team of dynamic and experienced community paediatricians in an active and progressive department at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. We work closely with our acute paediatric colleagues and are an active training unit. The community paediatric team hold clinics across East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust and in specialist school provisions.
The post holder will be expected to provide consultant input into the child development and Neurodisability service and there will be opportunity to develop a special interest (e.g. transition, epilepsy, Children Looked After) depending on experience and interest.
There is no out of hours commitment with this post although the post holder will participate in a weekday daytime rota for child protection. This does not include sexual abuse medicals which are seen elsewhere.

Active involvement in multidisciplinary team meetings and directorate clinical governance activity
* Active participation in continuing medical education

- Full GMC registration
- Entry on GMC Specialist Register or, be within 6 months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at time of interview or, provide GMC confirmed eligibility for entry on the Specialist Register
- College membership (MRCPCH) or qualification of an equivalent level
Desirable
- Postgraduate academic degree
- CCT or equivalent in subspeciality of Community Child Health
Previous Experience
Essential
- A minimum of 2 years' experience and training
- Interest and experience in working with multi-disciplinary Inter-agency teams
- Experience in diagnosis and management of social communication disorders
- Training and experience in the management of suspected child abuse and attendance at case conferences
- Achieved the competencies relating to General Paediatric Training, usually after 2 years of General Professional Training in Paediatrics. Able to demonstrate having achieved the competencies equivalent to Higher Specialist Paediatric Training usually including 3 years in Community Child Health (usually after 5 years of Higher Specialist Training in total)
