Job summary

We are recruiting for a Medical Secretary - Dermatology who share/s our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients

The Dermatology Department is a dynamic service with many development opportunities. The department is a rewarding and exciting place to work.

You will be responsible for the provision of an efficient, comprehensive personal assistant and administrative support service to the Consultants and any other members of their teams. You will be required to work independently using your own initiative and must apply a high degree of confidentiality to all aspects of your work.

In addition, you will receive a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of basic salary,subject to a minimum payment of £1,192 and a maximum payment of £2,011.

Main duties of the job

You will support the Consultant and their teams in ensuring all appropriate typing work is efficiently outsourced and returned, then subsequently dispatched following signature. This could include all letters, reports, summaries, results, insurance claims, GP and Consultant letters and any other work generated by the Consultants and their teams.

To deal efficiently with all patient enquiries by phone, letter, fax or in person, exercising initiative and tact with regard to action necessary.

Ensure that all messages are relayed as quickly as possible to the consultant and their medical teams.
