We are recruiting for a Children's Nurse Team Leaderwho shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

Children's Emergency Department is purpose built and includes three paediatric resuscitation bays, 6 major spaces, and an ENP service co-located within the emergency department, seeing minor illness and injury, as well as a ten bedded children's assessment and decision unit.

The Nurse Team Leader post is a vital and valued role to support in providing high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patient/clients and their families/carers. Based on a Children's ED and Assessment Unit setting, you work closely with the department / ward manager and multidisciplinary team members in monitoring and maintaining policies, standards of nursing care, staff and service development within the unit setting.

Main duties of the job

You will prioritise and provide a high standard of safe, individualised, holistic, family centred carethat is evidence based, in consultation and partnership with the child, their family/carers and theMulti-disciplinary Team (MDT), that recognises the distinct needs of children and young peopleand ensures the provision of privacy and dignity at all times.

Promote an environment that reflects the psychosocial and developmental needs of children and youngpeople, in terms of play, recreational facilities and educational provision. Ensuring specific provision for those with special needs

Undertake the role of a Link Nurse for a given field within the department, when requested to do so, bythe Ward or Matron

Comply with quality indicators and infection control policies, standards and procedures, including handhygiene and care bundles, ensuring that yearly updates are undertaken
