Job summary

We are recruiting for an Income Management Accountant who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

The Income Team are recruiting for an ambitious, motivated and enthusiastic individual as a Income Management Accountant to support our department and our key operational and clinical stakeholders to help deliver the best care for our patients.

This post will provide excellent experience to someone who is looking to progress or train in a career within a progressive NHS Finance Department.

You will need to work to ensure tight deadlines are met, whilst maintaining a high-quality approach. You must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and ideally already have some accounting knowledge or experience, possibly through studying AAT or by having a relevant degree. We will offer you support towards studying for a CCAB qualification and excellent career progression.

Main duties of the job

To provide full and comprehensive support to the Senior Income accountant and Financial Planning team (Income, Costing, Planning and Data Quality) in the provision of accurate and timely financial income reporting and the resolution of income challenges, through the application of appropriate accounting policies, NHS Payment Scheme (NHSPS) guidance and business experience.

To communicate with Senior managers, Clinicians, Budget holders, other Finance staff and external customers, by MS Teams, face to face, email or telephone as appropriate.

You will need to build effective relationships and communicate complex financial information to support stakeholders in making key decisions. The individual will need to also have excellent analytical skills and be able to manipulate large amounts of data, work diligently and accurately, and be able to draw inferences and present findings from analysis of financial and non-financial information.

  • A levels or equivalent
  • University degree, level 3 AAT, level 3 apprenticeship, or equivalent experience

  • Diploma level accounting qualification (part qualified) or AAT technician with equivalent experience

Previous Experience

  • Understanding or experience in all aspects of financial reporting, planning and control
