Our Acute Children's service includes: a dedicated Children's Emergency Department and co-located Children's Assessment Unit, a 20 bed children's Inpatient Ward (Bluebell) and Children's Day Unit, which covers outpatients, day services and day surgery
You will be involved in influencing the future of service development for Children and Young People across acute and community services in East and North Hertfordshire, working closely with Trust Directors, ICS, Children's Commissioners and other Partners in ensuring services are delivered to high quality care.

Main duties of the job
The Matron for Acute Children's Services has day to day professional and managerial responsibility for all of acute children's services including; CED and CAU, inpatient ward and children's day services.
Working alongside and in conjunction with the Senior Paediatric Nursing team and Divisional Management Team in delivering high quality, cost effective services.
You will ensure that the Division is appropriately supported to deliver their Quality Governance agenda. This will mean representation relating to the management and investigation of SIs, incident reporting, risk registers, complaints & claims, clinical audit plans and clinical effectiveness activity.
You will be a qualified Paediatric Nurse (RSCN or RN Child), have experience at a senior level within paediatric settings and be committed to leading staff in the delivery of quality effective, best value care and can expect to be supported to achieve their potential.
You will ensure the continued delivery of their clinical areas Workforce Strategy which enables the continued growth of the service through effective recruitment, development and deployment of the right skill mix of nursing staff appropriate to service requirements.
