Job summary

We are recruiting for an Service Administrator who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients, to join the Paul Strickland Scanner Centre.

The Centre is a specialist imaging unit with a large research commitment, we are closely linked with the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre and a large proportion of the workload is oncology related.

The successful candidate will join the centre to provide administrative support to the senior leadership teams, recording activity data and carrying out all administrative tasks to help ensure efficient use and accurate recording of the work we do.

Main duties of the job

You will support the Service leads in all administrative needs including monitoring of staff attendance and compliance with training etc. This will involve communication with professional staff and the general public with tact and sensitivity.

To carry out administration duties across the service, line manage staff in the administration team providing a full range of secretarial/administrative skills assuring effective administration systems are in place, ensuring prioritisation and delegation of work.

This post will involve the day-to-day administrative workload, management and the responsibility of administration and computerised IT Systems and data inputting systems.

Work unsupervised on assigned administrative tasks.

  • RSA III, NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)/ Secretarial Qualification or relevant experience

Previous Experience

  • Experience dealing with members of the public, either face to face, or on the phone
  • Experience of Managing and Appraising a team
  • Working as part of a team
