Job summary

We are recruiting for a Team Administrator who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the volunteer and Support & Information Services team at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre based at the Lynda Jackson Centre. The post is crucial to the smooth running of centre providing valuable administrative support to our volunteer, patient information, drop-in and complementary therapy team. If you have strong administrative skills and enjoy working in a busy environment where no two days are the same, we would like to hear from you.

The post will involve working closely with volunteers and a mixed team of professionals and you will be responding to queries from patients, family members and friends who support them, volunteers, and members of the public.

Apprenticeships available (but not mandatory) to the right candidate, keen to progress in their career.

Main duties of the job

As team administrator you will provide and support an efficient and effective range of administrative duties within the Cancer Services Directorate.

Provide excellent customer service, ensuring that all telephone callers are greeted promptly, professionally and politely.

Provide a central point of reference for the Voluntary Services.

Manage constantly changing priorities and deadlines.

Handle volunteer and public enquiries courteously, efficiently and with an awareness of the needs of the caller.

Support specialist staff teams with administrative duties as required for example: maintaining volunteer records, administering recruitment and training of volunteers, coordinating staff and volunteer rotas, logging activity and reports, taking bookings for health and wellbeing initiatives, updating information leaflets.
