RCSEng Robotic Fellow (1st post) - Starting October 2023RCSEng Robotic Fellow (2nd post) - Starting March 2024Applications are invited for two Robotic RCSEng Fellowships in our Urology unit. Both posts are accredited RCSEng Fellowships and are full time fixed term appointments. The first post will commence in October 2023 and the second in March 2024, for a mandatory period of 12 months, and both are based at Lister Hospital in Stevenage.The RCSEng Robotic Fellowship allows a fantastic opportunity for senior registrars who wish to develop careers in Robotic Urology.https://www.rcseng.ac.uk/education-and-exams/accreditation/rcs-senior-clinical-fellowship-scheme/national-surgical-fellowship-scheme-register/urologyThe department includes four robotically trained Consultants (three of whom are national and international proctors in Robotic Urology). The Trust has a da Vinci Xi Dual Console robot, which has further enhanced training opportunities within the department. The department is recognised as a centre of excellence by The Vattikuti Foundation, one of only three centres in Europe. The trust also has a second Xi Dual Console system and a CMR Versius system.
Main duties of the job
During the two posts it is envisaged that the successful candidates will gain skills in a whole breadth of robotic procedures to including RALP, RALC, intracorporeal reconstruction, RAPN and Robotic Pyeloplasty. The posts are ideally suited to post-CCT (or equivalent) candidates who can focus on sub-speciality training in Robotics. Our previous Fellows have published and presented at national and international meetings.The Robotic Fellows will be expected to maintain the department's robotic database and contributes to national audits. Parallel research opportunities continue to exist with multiple national and international ongoing research projects.
