Job summary

We are recruiting for a Consultant Dermatologistwho shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

Our Dermatology Department has evolved considerably over the last 5 years, with the development and expansion of dermatology nursing services.

The successful applicant will work closely with our present Dermatology team and will undertake out-patients clinics at Hertford County with inpatient care at the Lister Hospital site.

The post holder will work alongside our Dermatology nurses, all of whom are based at Hertford County Hospital but provide cover across the Trust sites. In addition to supporting the existing service the appointee is encouraged to put forward their ideas about how the service could be improved and developed.

Main duties of the job

This post is an important part of our ongoing development of medical services at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, offering the successful applicant the opportunity to work closely with the existing Dermatologists to provide a high standard of care across the Trust.

It is essential that the candidate applying for this post has broad experience in common Dermatological disorders including dermatology emergencies, inflammatory dermatoses, and cutaneous cancers and that they are competent in the management of patient's biological therapies. The post holder will have the ability to undertake minor surgery and we wish to encourage applicants with sub-speciality and clinical research interests to apply for this position.

The post holder will have SPA time available to attend monthly dermatology meetings in London at the Dermatology Section of the Royal Society of Medicine.
