Job summary

We are recruiting for a Patient Pathway Coordinator who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

By working closely with a wide range of administration, clinical and managerial staff, and providing a high standard of administrative support, the the patient pathway coordinator will ensure patients receive treatment as soon possible and ensure national targets are met.

You will be responsible for providing a high standard of professional and patient focused service to a range of Trust-wide specialities and will support the function on a day-to-day operational basis.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for checking patients into clinics and confirming personal details whilst ensuring patient confidentiality at all times. Including the maintenance of Health Records and Information Management. You will deal with patient queries over the telephone and face to face constantly throughout the day. Attend relevant meetings and complete actions regarding the care of the patients within the designated pathway.

  • Reception /Administrative experience. Both clinical and managerial staff
  • Educated to minimum GCSE level or equivalent
  • Competence in use of various computer software

Desirable

  • Private patient reception experience
  • Equivalent knowledge and experience

Previous Experience

Essential

  • Administrative experience including dealing with complex situations and communicating with senior stakeholders and colleagues. Including Clinical team. Radiotherapy -Chemotherapy
  • Experience of managing confidential and sensitive material
  • Organised and able to manage time
  • Team player

Desirable

  • Medical Terminology
  • Previous NHS experience
  • Hospital information systems knowledge
  • Private Patient Reception environment

  • Methodical, conscientious & reliable
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
