An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and keen individual to work in the Health Records Department. The Health Records Lister hub team is based at The Lister Hospital, Stevenage.
This post will be based in the Lister Hospital at our Health Records hub but could be rotated to other teams and sites to gain a wealth of knowledge in Health Records, both in the warehouse and hospital sites.Working as part of a team, You will be expected to carry out various clerking duties, including answering the phone to enquiries for notes, filing, pulling notes for outpatient clinics, prepping notes within the library setting, providing hospital notes for all types of requests including audit and merging of temporary sets into main hospital notes.
You maybe asked to cover driving duties where you will need to use Trust vehicles to deliver patient records to various sites. You will also be expected to take part in a weekend rota system as and when required. This may include Bank Holidays.
Main duties of the job
You will be part of the Health Records Team and are responsible for finding and preparing notes for hospital patients for inpatient and outpatient activities.
You are responsible for ensuring that the notes get to the right place at the right time.
The Health records clerks will be able to cross cover in all aspects of the role including, pulling clinics, filing, weeding, destruction, prepping, merging, sending notes for requests from hospital staff groups, and the safe delivery of notes to sites.
You will need to communicate with QE2/HCH and the main Library sites, hospital staff as well as on occasion carry out duties across site, to ensure that notes are suitably prepared in line with department processes and made available for inpatient and outpatient activities across all sites.
The role can be physically demanding with large areas to cover, standing for long periods and deadlines to meet for deliveries to be sent out. A well as having to manipulate trolleys around the warehouse full of patient notes.
