Job summary

This is a substantive appointment for a new post and will start at an agreed date on appointment. The post will be split 6 PA for East and North Herts Trust (ENHT) and 4 PA for Hertfordshire Community Trust (HCT). The ENHT sessions will be largely based at Herford County Hospital in Hertford but with inpatient responsibilities at the Lister site. The HCT sessions will be delivered in the community in Hitchin, Baldock and Hatfield. This joint post is a brand-new role, giving the opportunity to develop dermatology across the Integrated Care Partnership (ICP). The post comprises programmed activities as indicated in the suggested timetables and has no on-call commitment.This is an excellent opportunity to join the Dermatology department at ENHT and the Skin Health Service at HCT. Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will work closely with our present ENHT Dermatology and HCT Skin Health teams.

The appointee will undertake out-patient clinics at Hertford County with ward referrals at the Lister Site

The ENHT Dermatology team, including nurses, meet up once a month on a Wednesday afternoon for business and educational purposes. This allows a forum for sharing knowledge and experience and where complex patients can be discussed. We also have a weekly Specialist Skin MDT and local MDT meeting and a monthly Dermatoses MDT Meeting.

The post holder will work alongside our Dermatology nurses, all of whom are based at Hertford County Hospital but provide cover across the ENHT sites.

The post holder will work as part of the HCT Skin Health Service in the community. This service is commissioned to

  • Provide a single point of contact for all skin health referrals
  • Provide a robust triage process for primary care dermatology and minor surgery
  • Diagnose, treat and manage patients with dermatological conditions in a variety of venues in East and North Hertfordshire.

Clinics are delivered across East and North Hertfordshire to give patients the maximum and easy access to care.
