The Lister Hospital, Stevenage is looking for a high calibre pharmacist to join our expanding team as an advanced pharmacist for ePMA & surgery. This is a newly created post and an excellent chance to make a name for yourself!
The successful candidate will utilise their clinical and digital knowledge to work with Principal Pharmacists to deliver digital change and innovation within the ePMA system. They will also provide high level pharmacy services to surgical patients as part of the planned care team.
The post holder will liaise with the digital and surgical teams to develop innovative and sustainable care models, whilst using a prescribing qualification to optimise drug therapies as part of a consultant-led MDT.
This post comes with development opportunities that include leadership and management progression.
Main duties of the job
- To support the safe and effective operation of the ePMA system.
- To ensure the ePMA system is continuously optimised in line with new clinical and digital guidance.
- To support the ePMA implementation to new areas / wider expansion.
- To be an Advanced Pharmacist for Surgery utilising specialist clinical knowledge to provide a high-quality pharmaceutical service to patients.
- To work alongside and support the Pharmacist Manager - Planned Care to support the day to day running and development of the surgical pharmacy team.
- Play an integral role in the MDT that delivers a high quality clinical service to surgical patients that includes regular attendance of consultant-led ward rounds and independently prescribing to optimise individual patients' medicines.
- To line manage both Band 6 and Band 7 pharmacists within the Trust, as well as being a tutor/mentor for either a diploma or foundation year trainee pharmacists.
