Job summary

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nurse to join our forward thinking and dynamic Diabetes Team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an interest in Diabetes to specialise within the field.

The East and North Herts Institute of Diabetes and Endocrinology (ENHIDE), are one of the largest Diabetes Specialist Teams within a District General Hospital in the UK, providing a high standard of care across three hospital sites. The Diabetes Specialist Team provides 7 day inpatient cover.

This service is delivered on a rotational basis with Diabetes consultant on-call support.

Main duties of the job

Working as an integral member of the team, the role is focused on In-patient Diabetes care and will also provide support to the out-patient service. Applicants should possess excellent communication, clinical and motivational skills and will provide an educational resource for doctors, nurses and patients. Working in secondary care, the applicant will provide expert complex-case management and support to people with Diabetes in the acute multidisciplinary setting.

The delivery of structured teaching and training to both health care professionals and people with Diabetes has a team based approach and is a core part of the specialist diabetes nurse role.
