Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Clinical Team at the Paul Strickland Scanner Centre/East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust.

We are recruiting a Band 7 Radiographer to join our team.

The Paul Strickland Scanner Centre is a continuously developing, specialist clinical oncology diagnostic imaging unit with a large research commitment which requires highly specialist knowledge.

If selected to interview, you will be asked to prepare a short presentation (15 mins) about the strategies to support the team during COVID19 recovery.

In addition to the basic salary, you will receive a High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £3,722 and a maximum payment of £4,743 per annum pro rata.

Main duties of the job

Paul Strickland Scanner Centre provides CT, MRI and PET/CT imaging for both oncology patients and the wider community, serving both the NHS and private sectors as well as being part of large integrated research programmes. The Centre works closely with the adjacent Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.

The Advanced Radiographer position includes an adaptable specialist rotation through all three diagnostic imaging modalities in the Centre. There are opportunities to learn and refine a range of imaging skills and participate in research. Line management opportunities and training will be provided. Full or part time applications are welcome.

We have 6 scanners, a Siemens 1.5T MRI Avanto-fit, Siemens 3.0T MRI Prisma-fit, Siemens Aera, Siemens Force Dual Source, Dual Energy CT scanner, GE VCT PET/CT, and Siemens Biograph PET/CT scanner.

About us

Mount Vernon Cancer Centre is a well-respected, non-surgical cancer centre based in Northwood in Middlesex providing chemotherapy, radiotherapy and immunotherapy treatments to over 5,000 patients a year. It is currently run by East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust (ENHT) and consistently receives positive patient feedback.

The Centre is a registered charity (No 298867); open since 1985, however, all staff are employed on standard NHS contracts.

We are seeking to maintain and expand the Cancer Centre staff as we move to an exciting new future.
