Job summary

The Senior House Officer (SHO) in a hospital plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care across various clinical settings, under the supervision of senior medical staff.

The SHO is responsible for conducting patient assessments, formulating treatment plans, performing medical procedures, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This role involves regular interaction with patients, families, and healthcare professionals, contributing to the diagnosis, management, and monitoring of patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

The role will entail ward based, on-call duties for Urology , clinics, and manage the surveillance of cancer patients.

Main duties of the job

Take part in urology ward rounds, and manage the surveillance of these patients. This would include, reviewing blood results; escalating to service, undertaking prostate surveillance clinics and referring back to the Oncology Service as necessary. The service would also offer some urology training to ensure development and advancement of skills.

On call on weekends, (2 in 4)
