Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a pivotal leadership role within the workforce directorate at West Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust, destined to play a vital role in shaping and securing the future of our workforce capabilities.

As the Head of Strategic Workforce Transformation, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive strategies to ensure we have the right people, in the right places, with the right skills, to deliver outstanding patient care and achieve our overall organisational goals.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will lead the strategic workforce planning agenda for the medical staffing function as well exploring other systems to improve workforce efficiency, working closely with colleagues and wider stakeholders from across the Trust, supporting the workforce plan effectively and bring to life the ambitions within the People and OD Plan.

Working with the Senior Leadership Team the post holder will lead on the development of workforce plans within the NHS Operational Planning Cycle, providing critical oversight and support to to enhance the effectiveness of HR services and systems.

The post holder will also be accountable for shaping and implementing the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion strategy and plan.

  • MCIPD qualified or equivalent qualification/experience to master's Level

Desirable

  • Post Graduate Management Qualification/MBA
  • Quality improvement qualification or equivalent

  • Substantial recent management experience in temporary staffing, medical locums and systems development
  • Experience of providing people management services to a wide range of staff from different professional or occupational backgrounds
  • Previous management experience, demonstrating ability to provide direction, enable others to perform and holding to account for performance
  • Demonstrable experience of Business Planning and Service redesign
  • Demonstrable evidence of Service Change and Improvement programmes
  • Extensive experience of formalised workforce planning, key workforce information and delivery
