Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual to join the friendly and supportive Cardiology team at West Herts.

The successful candidate will hone their skills in the non-invasive department, work with, and learn from, BHRS Devices accredited colleagues during CIED clinics. High-level training will be provided in the cath labs during coronary intervention cases and CIED implantations.

We are a forward-thinking department and support staff development. Professional development is supported with in-house training sessions. Staff are encouraged to attend external training courses and national conferences. We encourage staff to work towards national accreditation.

The department supports flexible working and gives physiologists the opportunity to work from home.

The post holder will be primarily based at Watford with rotations at St Albans and Hemel Hempstead Hospitals to cover outpatient activities.

The core hours of the service are Monday-Friday 09:00-17:00. Extended working hours may be required during cath lab rotations.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder is expected to be a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual, using their experience and knowledge to provide a professional standard of care in all areas of invasive and non-invasive cardiology. The successful candidate will have BSc in Clinical Physiology, or equivalent, and be expected to have a level of skill and autonomy appropriate to the Band 5 level.

The post holder should be team focused, a positive role model, detail oriented and possess good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.

  • Sound understanding of the basic principles of cardiac pacing

Desirable
